ISO and OHSMS support using risk analysis

The employer applies good practice when the risk analysis and the risk assessment are organized and carried out in a coordinated way in areas where risks are to be expected. The latest ISO and OHSMS standards require the preparation and periodic updating of the current risk assessment and specify the operation of a framework, able to handle risk assessment and management. Thus, the operator can perform his tasks not only with less effort and greater efficiency, but can fully and consequently meet the requirements of the regulatory authorities.

These risk assessments in some cases require much more complex analysis than simpler workplace risk assessments, where consideration of technological risks are minimal or negligible. Huge, complex technologies and technologies considered to cause catastrophic consequences require complicated analytical, modeling and evaluation procedures, ensuring the operator to identify and rank the dangers and risks involved in the process, in order to determine the necessary safety enhancement measures.
